US-Based Academics Visit Mowire Palace
A delegation of lecturers, including doctors and professors from various universities in the United States, has paid a courtesy call on Nana Gyamfi Kumanin Sarpong, the Mowirehene, at the Mowire Palace as part of their visit to Ghana.
This was on June 7, 2026, a day that marked Akwasidae.
The academics, who are in the country to explore, learn, and connect with Ghana’s rich history and cultural heritage, were warmly received by the chief, his elders, and members of the royal family. They also used that rare opportunity to pay homage to Mowirehene.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in discussions on Ghanaian traditions, customs, and the historical significance of chieftaincy institutions especially in Asanteman, in preserving the country’s cultural identity.
The Mowirehene welcomed the visitors and highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening ties between Ghana and the international academic community.
